A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Rafal Ciosk at the Friedrich Miescher Institute in Basel, Switzerland (http://www.fmi.ch/ciosk.r ). Talented, motivated scientists interested in using C. elegans as a model system to study germline development, totipotency, and translational regulation, are encouraged to apply. Successful candidates should have a broad background in molecular biology, genetics or biochemistry, share our enthusiasm about science, and have a long-term vision of building their own independent research program. While prior experience with C. elegans is advantageous, it is not essential.

The Friedrich Miescher Institute, part of the Novartis Research Foundation, is an international institute pursuing basic problems in biological research (www.fmi.ch ). We have a staff of 300, including 180 postdoctoral fellows, graduate students and undergraduates. A competitive salary will be provided.
