Research Assistant, Massachusetts General Hospital and the Broad Institute

 

Position available for a Research Assistant, who will be part of a team that in 1-2 years aims to establish a whole-animal Caenorhabditis elegans high throughput screening facility for RNAi and drug screens.

 

The project is a multidisciplinary approach that integrates C. elegans genetics, high-throughput chemical and RNAi screens, automated sorting and microscopy, and bioinformatics.

 

Duties include handling multiple C. elegans strains and chemical and RNAi libraries, preparing materials and solutions, and assisting the operation of a worm sorter and an automated microscope. The Research Assistant will work under the supervision of a Screen Manager and Research Fellows.

 

Requires a BS in life sciences and a minimum of 1 year of practical laboratory experience; C. elegans experience is a plus.  Must be organized, careful, and have strong motivation to learn.

 

Salary will be commensurate with experience and will include benefits.
