A post-doctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Alfred Fisher at the University of Pittsburgh. Our laboratory uses molecular genetic approaches to study links between aging, sarcopenia, and mobility changes in Caenorhabditis elegans. Specifically, the position will entail using mutants with altered aging, microarrays, automated worm imaging, and RNAi to find genes that can prevent the declines in muscle mass and mobility seen in old worms.

The lab is located in new research space located in the Pittsburgh Institute for Neurodegenerative Diseases at the University of Pittsburgh, School of Medicine. The University of Pittsburgh ranks among the top 10 institutions nationally in terms of NIH funding and offers a large and growing biomedical research community.

Applicant should have a doctoral degree in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, developmental biology or similar with experience in molecular biology techniques. Highly motivated applicants are encouraged to apply. Please send a brief cover letter describing research experience, CV, and contact information for 2 references via mail or e-mail to:
