Postdoctoral Research Fellow – Kapahi Laboratory
The focus of Dr. Pankaj Kapahi’s Laboratory is to identify and characterize the
genetic pathways that mediate effects on lifespan, feeding behavior and
metabolism upon nutritional modulation. This is being achieved by using an
interdisciplinary approach combining genetic, biochemical and genomic
techniques in invertebrate model systems Caenorhabditis elegans and Drosophila
melanogaster. The broader significance of this research is to help
uncover the role of nutrition in the etiology of age-related human diseases
like diabetes, obesity, cancer and neurodegeneration. Candidates with an
interest in aging, metabolism, obesity and establishing models for human
diseases using invertebrate models are encouraged to apply. Experience in
molecular biology and using flies and worms would be an advantage. Additional
