C. elegans Postdoc in Ageing and Immunity.

UNIVERSITY OF BIRMINGHAM, UK

Applications are invited for a BBSRC-supported Postdoctoral Research Fellow position to study the molecular linkage between ageing and immunity using C. elegans.  This post builds on our recent work (van den Berg et al, 2006; May, 2007) on the evolution of immunity and stress signalling in C. elegans and related nematodes.  The project will involve forward and reverse genetics, bioinformatics, transgenesis and gene expression analysis and experience in any of these areas would be very beneficial.

More details on the work of our group can be found on our website (www.biosciences.bham.ac.uk/labs/may/) and informal enquiries can be addressed to Dr Robin May on email: r.c.may@bham.ac.uk.

Formal applications should be submitted via Human Resources (+44 121 415 9000 or www.hr.bham.ac.uk/jobs <http://www.hr.bham.ac.uk/jobs> ), quoting reference H46068.

The deadline for applications is 7th February 2008 and the successful candidate will be expected to take up their position by 1st April 2008.
