QUALIFICATIONS
Both
positions require an earned Ph.D. in an area of the biomedical sciences which
includes an emphasis in cell and molecular biology; evidence of recent involvement
in extramural funding applications; evidence of recent publications in
peer-reviewed journals; a commitment to excellence in teaching; and effective
oral and written communication skills. Post-doctoral research experience in
molecular cell biology or a closely-related area and college or university
teaching experience are preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES
One position requires teaching responsibilities
in both a core biochemistry-oriented Biomolecular Interactions course with lab
and in an area of expertise within molecular cell biology. The second position requires teaching
responsibilities in an introductory Concepts in
Biomedical Sciences course, development of an introductory Biomedical Sciences
honors course, and teaching in an area of expertise within the cell and
molecular biology program. Both positions require development of an active
research program involving undergraduate and graduate students, student
advisement, and engagement in university and community service. Specific
research areas are open, but individuals with interests in eukaryotic genomics,
genetics, biochemistry, and cell biology are encouraged to apply. Successful candidates are expected to
