One post-doctoral position for 3 years is
available to perform comparative studies in fission yeasts, worms and flies on
how the general controls of gene expression and genome maintenance are
governed. In all three groups of organisms, fission yeasts, worms and flies,
these tasks are managed by a combination of protein-coding and
non-protein-coding genes. Given the evolutionary diversity of the three groups
of organisms, are there any common regulatory principles and mechanisms,
between all three or two of three groups of organisms? Successful candidates
are expected to apply both bioinformatic as well as
wet-lab approaches.
Candidates with interest in this project or
who wish to apply for the position are welcome to directly contact PETER
SWOBODA for further information.
