A postdoctoral position
is available immediately in a young research group in the Department of Crop
and Soil Sciences at Cornell
University. The successful candidate will develop a
vigorous research project to elucidate transport mechanisms that are responsible for the
sequestration of heavy metals into the lysosomal compartment and the interplay
among the key pathways for heavy metal detoxification. These questions will be addressed using a
combination of molecular, biochemical and genetic approaches. This project has derived from our recent
publication: Vatamaniuk O.K., Bucher E.A., Sundaram M.V. and Rea P.A. (2005)
